Ruined castles
Askebacken (Torup castle).
Aosehus -
in Åhus. The ruin of a castle probably built before the
1150th. Strategically located where Helge river once flowed into the sea. It
was destroyed in 1569.
Beritzholm -
medieval castle which was demolished in the 1530s. Today, there are mounds and
the remains of the moat. Located at Bjärsjölagård.
Borravallen.
Falsterbohus.
Gladsaxehus (Gladsax east of Simrishamn).
Gyllebo borgruin -
castle was built around 1540 on a promontory in Gyllebo Lake
northeast of Simrishamn. After several fires was the castle abandoned. Today
walls remind about the castle.
Härlövsborgen.
Kungsbacken.
Kungsmarken (Glomstorp).
Lillöhus -
once a great fortress in the wetlands at Helgeå west of
Kristianstad. The Swedes destroyed the castle after that Skåne became
Swedish 1658.

Skeingeborg -
(Skeviaborg) is an octagonal castle ruins from the 1100s on an islet in
Skeingesjön west of Osby. On the site is a meter high remains of the
octagonal wall.

Vallabacken -
at Vitabys southern entrance is a circular stone clad ruin mound after a
castle probably built during 110- or 1200's.
Vallåkra.
Vittsjöborg -
on the isthmus between Pickelsjön and Mellomsjön
in Vittsjö. Here was a castle in the 1300s that was destroyed by fire,
probably during an attack. What remains are some hills.

Dolmens
Gantoftadösen -
dolmen from about 3600 BC in a field beside the highway just south
of Gantofta. Consists of three boulders supporting a roof blocks.
Gillhög -
is a well-preserved Neolithic passage grave along the road between
Löddeköpinge and Barsebäckshamn.
Haväng dolmen -
an approximately 5000 years old tomb at Haväng. A stone chamber
tomb with a central chamber with roof blocks surrounded by stones.
Beautifully situated on the Baltic Sea.
Harald Hildetand (Dagstorp).
Hofterup dolmen - just east of
Hofterups church is a stone chamber tomb from the Neolithic period.
Skegrie dolmen -
at Skegrie church is a well-preserved dolmen from the stone age
around 3000 BC.
Galgbacken at Stora Harrie -
Between Stora Harrie and Södervidinge are two dolmens.
Trollakistan -
is a dolmen from the period 4200-1800 BC. Located
along the road between Snogeröd and Höör, just north
of Klinta.

Memorial monuments
Anderstorp.
Bombplanet 1944 -
during the night of 29-30 August 1944 crashed several allied bombers
in Skåne. One of them at Svensköp.
Battle of Landskrona
- north of Billeberga is a monument of the Battle of Landskrona, July 14,
1677. The battle ended in a defeat for the Danes, who retreated to Landskrona.

two burial mounds from the Bronze Age (ca. 1800-1300 BC) near the
road east of Vellinge past Mellan-Grevie. Located on a slight elevation,
from the mounds is a sweeping view of Söderslätt.

Frännarp -
west of Knislinge. Unusual rock carvings with many carriages drawn
by horses.

Yxornas häll -
south of Simrislund, on the road betweem Simrishamn and
Brantevik, is a flat rock with rock carvings.

St Olofs, Hallaröd
located in a grove near Hallaröd church. During the Middle
Ages a center of the Sankt Olof cult, and was probably already a sacrifice well..
Sankta Magnhild, Fulltofta
Magnhild is a local Skåne saint, she was killed by her
daughter in law 1215.
In Fulltofta is a well that ran up on the spot where the carriers
put down her coffin to rest.

at Kåseberga is the largest stone ship in Sweden.
Controversial origin, grave or calendar? Beautifully situated
overlooking the sea.
Broås stenen (Broås käring) west of Vanstad.
Disas ting -
in Svarte west of Ystad. Stone Circuit of unclear origin. Tradition
say that the Virgin Disa had a session there. Could be the remains
of a dolmen.
Grevlunda gravfält -
'grove at the graves' at Vitaby is a graveyard from the first
millennium after Christ. A ship setting, a stone circle, six standing
stones.
Häglinge gravfält -
just north of Häglinge beside the road to Sösdala. Grave
field from the second half of the Iron Age, about 500-900 AD. Remains of two
stone ships and numerous standing stones.

Miscellaneous
Adam and Eve -
two lime kilns at Bjärsjölagård castle. The oldest
from 1865. The business was closed in the 1940s.
Gantofta, grinding grooves -
sandstone rock with large number of grinding grooves. The origin is
controversial: the farmers have in recent times grinded their tools,
or maybe in the Stone Age it was used to grind stone tools.
Klackabacken -
hiking trail west of the Left. Past ancient monuments and the defense
facility Skepparslöv
redoubts. These earthworks were built in 1678 during the Scanian War. Beautiful scenery.
Viken, grinding grooves -
sandstone rock with large number of grinding grooves. The origin is
controversial: the farmers have in recent times grinded their tools,
or maybe in the Stone Age it was used to grind stone tools.
Vittsjöskans -
memorial stone of Gustavus Adolphus near death experience 1612. A
Danish fortification during the Kalmar War 1611-13. Highly situated between
two lakes and a river.
