Drotten churchruin
in central Lund is the remains of a stone church built in the 1000's and was demolished during the Reformation. It was found during excavations around 1980 and was after many discussions built into the house that was built on the site.

From 1100 to 1250 was built 27 stone churches in Lund. In
the middle of 1000's was the first stone church built in Lund, Drotten
called. Drotten is a Scandinavian word for ruler, the church was consecrated
to the trinity. 1150 became the church abbey to a
premonstratenser monestary. In the early 1300s it became a parish church
when the monastery moved to Öved. At the Reformation in the 1500s was the
church. The remains was excavated around 1980, when it caused a fight. what to
do with the ruin? Remove, preserve? It was finally built into the basement of
the new house in Kattesund, and is now a museum. On
one wall is a plaque of the church. The church is marked by
cobblestones in Kattesund. One can from Kattesund look down on the ruins
through a window. The museum is entered through a restaurant, now called the
Gattostretto, then stairs or the elevator down to it.
