Pictures from Skåne - Sweden - Nöbbelöv bog
20/5 2009: I bicycle to Nöbbelöv bog in the northwest of Lund. A bird swarm passes high up. I do not which bird it is. I leave the bike at the car park where a narrow road goes north towards the ponds. Cows lie peacefully and ruminate on the meadow west of the road. A man is studying birds through binoculars. I ask him if he had seen the birds swarm earlier. It was probably Brent Geese or Barnacle Geese he say. Too far away to be sure which, but they fly in a 'swarm' to their areas in the Arctic this time of year. At the pond sleeps a swan. I walk up on the "View hill" at the pond, but tere is not much of bird life today, I do not see any bird apart from the sleeping swan. West of the pond is a fireplace. In the meadow north of the pond graze cows. Is it not Lapwing flying there? I go east on the trail north of the pond, then turn north. Gute sheeps is resting in the shade of a tree. Follow the Vallärra brook towards west, in the north of it is a pond that connects to the brook, a stream furrow winds over the meadow in the south. I turn back and follow the brook eastward under the railway which split the area in two parts. The passage is narrow, with a railing against the water. The rain has brought mud down on the concrete. It is wet and messy. Information signs tell about the life in the brook. At a pond is one part of a school class learning about the birds. A second part is studying the life in the brook. The findings is looked at on in detail on a platform. At the end of the day will they certainly know more than I do, which is not much. My time is over, and I return home. The rest of the area I have to visit some other time. |
