Rökepipan
nature reserve at Dalby, a pond, grazing of pasture land with rich flora, and a ravine. June 19, 2011: Taking the bus to Skryllegården. Walk the 10 km trail, Milspåret, the more than two kilometers to Rökepipan, just before the pond turns the track off, I continue on the path straight ahead to the pond. The pond holds water lilies that start to bloom. Something croak loudly. A bird? A frog? Maybe, I'm not so good at those voices. Meet a man that I ask, but he is a big question mark about the question. At the pond edge grow dog-roses. Go on a path along the pond to a field of flowers. Fight me into the bushes surrounding the pond, I'm trying to walk around the pond at what may be a path. Thorny and rugged, but beautiful lush with silverweed, flower glades, elderflower. Becomes too rough, do not see much of the pond either, so I return. At the path past the pond is a bench and a stile into the pasture land with the ravine. Over the trees is visible the Dalby water tower. A sort of hawkweed, guess Mouse-ear-hawkweed. It descends steeply down towards the creek that winds in the lush greenery. Follow the slope. Bääää! Who are you? bleats a flock of sheep friendly. A ram comes and sniffs at me. Itch on my nose does it pray, I do so. Wild cherry is still immature. Goes over a stile, follows a path down to the brook, where it is a swamp. Leaving the path and follow the edge of the swamp. Rugged. Coming to a reeded opening in the marsh. Crawls here up the slope to a footpath that follows the canyon back. Goes down into the canyon over a meadow. On a path through the woods by the stream, also here is a swamp. A stile takes me to the pasture land where I started the round. Sit down on the hillside, with views down the valley, and eat my lunch. Then I go through Dalby to the bus station and back home. |
