December 27, 2012: The Bus Centre has been moved to the railway station. It's just to cross the street to the Holy Trinity Church. Kristianstad was founded in 1614, they built a cathedral-like brick church, which was consecrated in 1628. At the time Chistian IV was King of Denmark. His C4 adorn the entrances. I may enter through the north entrance, the west is closed due the cold. This tells me a man who clean up after an ordinance. He also says that yesterday they called the police and closed the church because of "drinking party" in the Church. C4 is here flanked by Matthew and John. At the southern entrance of Luke and Mark.

The church has light and space. It was the intention to be a cathedral in Kristianstad dioces, oen should divide the diocese of Lund. It was never done, then became Skåne swedish and it all died out. The windows have 11,200 glassboxes. From the ceiling hangs a magnificent chandelier. It's Christmas time, the nativity scene is there, the altar is flanked by christmas trees. As usual, I light a candle for my dead. The altar from 1630 is made in Amsterdam. Magnificent is the organ, with its carvings and embellishments. On the walls hang a few 1600 's epitaphs: Lavesens and Jorgen Christoffersen's. The pulpit is made of black marble with figures in white marble. In front of the altar stands the baptismal font. Made in Gotland sandstone, with nude female figures. In one corner stands a baptistery, a secluded place for baptism since one was considered as heathen before baptism. In the south transept is an altar and baptismal font of more modern date. Bench lines are decorated by various beautiful carvings, maybe not all are so beautiful. A head is sticking out its tongue.

The church contains a number of ornate tombstones. One with a makaber reaper as a skeleton. Around 1850 they stopped burying in the church, the stench became too difficult. They moved the headstones and corpses. Some stones ended up outside the church where it is exposed to the weather, eating away at them.

I also move out. Goes to the regional museum and eat potato pancakes with herb marinated roast pork at Café Miró. While waiting for the bus home a cappuccino and cake at Café Lu. Café and flower shop in one. Then bus home this grey day between christmas and new year.
