Vombsjön - Badplatsen
a nice rather secluded beach on the eastern Vombsjön.

From the previous description: "You could probably go all the way to Björkaåns inflow into the lake. A look at the clock says it will be another time. " Now is the time for it. But first a bath in the lake. There is the hint of algal blooms, do not look quite appetizing. Still the appetite after the bath with a simple lunch.

Then go south. The creek does not reach into the water today. It is the low water level in the lake. One learns to have lowered the lake for repair work on the water supply. The lake provides Malmo with water. The beach is nearly empty. Out in the water, on the ground, move the mussels. Slowly, the tracks in the sand suggest that they do not really know the direction. Many beautiful shells. Inland is the cows and take it easy.

Some Mediterranean look. Fine sand, here and there a few trees. Go all the time in the water. Nice coolness. Coming up to Björkaåns inflow. A boat enter the river. The beach is filled with pebbles, now that the water is low.

Do not feel like wading the river. Going back. Stops on the way home at Sjögården for coffee and waffle.

31 July 2010: Drive south from Övedskloster towards Björka. On a tiny sign it says 'Badplats' (Beach). A dirt road leads down to a parking area, from where a path leads past a toilet to the swimming area. Some has party, some camp in the forest, some sunbathe, some bathe. I change clothes and take a swim, it's comfortable in the water. Also dogs like it, our four-legged friends seem to have access. I sit on my regular tree, the tree makes a horizontal bend, and drink my coffee. Children climb in the tree. The trees have bare roots that extends like old fingers into the ground. It is a lovely place, which stretches for miles along the shore of lake's east side. Go south, across a creek, follow the shore. In east is pasture. In the waterfront are dead small fishes. Why and what? Discuss this with a woman and dog. We do find any answer. One can probably go all the way to the river Björkaån inflow into the lake. A look at the clock which says it must be another time. Returning to the car and drive home. Read later that it is dead Pike-perch fry I saw at Vombsjön, probably the heat and lack of oxygen is the cause.
