The oldest parts of the church are from the 12th or 13th century. Then built of blocks of Hardeberga sandstone, which can be seen on parts of the outside of the church. Over the years it has changed a lot. On the north wall of the nave are runes that were discovered when the church was renovated in 2002. Difficult to decipher, but they have been interpreted to:

I Niklis Tues by Harabiargi and Knut Has I consider everything

The text ends with a cross. The runes were probably carved by Niklis Tuesson when he took over the Hardeberga estate as a 16-year-old.

In the choir and by the pulpit (from 1842) there are stained glass windows from more recent times. The baptismal font from the Middle Ages is carved in limestone. Above it hangs an altarpiece from the 17th century. In front of the choir is a Christ sculpture, similar to the one in Asmundtorp's church. Another copy of Thorvaldsen's Christ statue in Copenhagen. Ceiling paintings in the choir carried out during the restoration in 1909.

North of the church, sisters from Rögle monastery are buried.
