Drive east on Veberödsvägen in Dalby towards Dalby quarry. On the outskirts of Dalby on the north side of the road is a hill. Now that there are no leaves on the trees, you can see a stone on the hill. On the south side, by Gamla Veberödsvägen, is an undeveloped lot. Park the car there. On the other side of the road, a path crosses a field past the eastern side of the hill. After a hundred meters is a path up the hill to the stone. A cat looks at us in wonder. We take the path up to the stone. It is a stone with the inscription 'Galgabacken'. Probably the site of the Dalby execution site. Maybe not the exact location, but in the area there has been an execution site. By whom and when the stone was erected is not known. According to the archives, several people were executed during the 17th and 19th centuries. "Murder, arson, sexual assault and bloodshed" are some of the crimes. On 'Destination Lund's' website about Galgabacken there are examples of the unfortunate ones. We continue across the field to a grove. Spring is starting to green up here, there are some wood anemones. Next to is a cycle path, some Balkan anemone are in bloom.
