Pictures from Skåne - Sweden - Tree trail

9/5 2009: I stop after Räften and look at the rape fields along the road. Continue to the tree path in Skrylle. I first take the wrong parking. It is the next turn left before Dalby. At the car park is information about some trees. I study the map with the trees list I printed from Skryllegårdens website, it seems not be correct. Here is a Goat Willow which is not on the list, and no elm is standing on the list. Probably the elm is dead in the elm sickness. Elderberries do not bloom yet. I follow a bumpy path into the woods. Downy Birch and Silver Birch leaves I can not see, the trees are too high. Compare the tree trunks instead. I pass known and unknown trees. Never heard of Korean fir. A sign says Ash, but I see none. Perhaps the stump? Later on, another sign say; Ash. Here is an Ash, not yet with leaves. At a site is an inscription: 'Present to Jenny'. Why and who was Jenny? On the site is a childrens party. There is now a good path. I have been confused by all the trees, about fifty, and sit down in the beech forest with my coffee. The beech I know. Continue on the gravel road back to the car park. Aspen has been cut down? The place is empty, a tree is cut into pieces next to the road. I drive home. Stop between Östra Odarslöv and Lund to watch the rape fields along the road. It took two hours to stroll and look at leaves and trees on the path that is a kilometer long. Restful for the soul. Trying to remember the trees, but as usual, I have already forgotten. I have written down what was on the signs and hope I found the right plant with my camera. My knowledge is not what it should be. On a plate was holly, which has white flowers. The plant I found had yellow flowers, as Oregon-grape, which otherwise resembles holly. Two ticks I got.
