Many rain showers when we drive north on road 23 towards Hässleholm.
The forecast promises good weather during the day.
Towards Vinslöv at Sandåkra.
At the Bymöllan, just before passing road 21, there is a road west towards Ignaberga.
The road passes through Ignaberga limestone quarry.
Finding a pocket where one can park.
Now it's nice weather.
South of the road is still an active quarry .
North of the road has the quarry been restored with ponds.
Goes down to the eastern pond, and under the road to the south side.
There a man clings on a wall and searches fossils.
Muddy. Tramps through.
We go to the dam again.
Looking for fossils.
Does not find any.
Following the southern edge of the western pond.
Nice, but finds nothing.
An unclear trail goes through the forest up the road.
Along the road is a meter high embankment on the north side.
A belemnit!
Fossilized cigar-shaped rear part of an extinct octopus shell.
One more and one ...
There are many.
Walking on the embankment.
Turns down through the forest to the dam.
Out on an foreland.
Beautiful with steep walls and Late Goldenrod.
Go west on semi-open fields with bicycle tracks.
Comes to the west side.
Looking.
Finds some belemnites.
Time passes.
The north side and the eastern part have to wait.
Going up a steep slope to the road.
Follow the embankment back.
More findings.
South of the road is teh active quarry.
We have coffee with us, enough for more.
Drive to friends and invite them.
It starts to rain.
