Hjularöd stenvalvsbro
by the road between Harlösa and Hjularöd's castle. There should be a stone in the northwest corner with the inscription 'CEIVIL 1759'. Probably the initials of the developer and the year of construction. Thus, it is the oldest dated bridge in Skåne.

Drive the road along the valley from Harlösa up to Hjularöd's castle. In the upper part of the valley is a stone arch bridge over the stream that disappears down into the valley towards Kävlingeån. Sees no good place to park the car, drive on to Hjularöd's castle and park at the gable of an outbuilding. There is a parking sign there. Walks along the country road back to the stone arch bridge. The bridge is located next to the country road of today. There is space for a car at the entrance to a field, but today there is a risk because you get stuck. A sign tells about the bridge.

In 1752, the king decided that all new bridges in Skåne should be built of stone. This bridge is built in cold wall with the arch in the wedge stone. There is to be a stone in the northwest corner with the inscription "CEIVIL 1759" Probably the initials of the builder and the year of construction. Thus, it is the oldest dated bridge in Skåne. There is a stone in the corner with a curved upper part. But find no inscription anywhere. Go down to the creek to look into the vault, from both sides. Downstream, the brook glitters in the sunshine. The Skåneleden trail passes here down into the valley, follows it and the stream downstream. A bit down is the brook in a chute of stone. Next to it is an ice-covered small pond.

At the bridge is a picnic table, but we decide to drive to Vomsbjön to drink our coffee. High water level, it's just one place to sit by the water. It's occupied. Normally there are many places. We move on, see that the place becomes vacant. Hurry back.
