Lund-Holmbergska tomten-Photo album

a somewhat deliberately overgrown plot in Lund. Once a garden built in the late 1800's by one of Lund's richest men, Carl Holmberg. In the spring the ground is covered with scilla.

17 April 2011: It is the time of scilla in Lund. I who have lived so many years in Lund has never been in the Holmbergska plot when the scilla bloom. Holmbergska plot is a former garden, which was built by Carl Holmberg in the late 1800s. Now it may take care of itself, except that one had to take down the elm trees that got sick. Now it is a green oasis in the summer and a nature park adjacent to Fasanvägen. Normally it is rather scrubby, but the scilla that bloom in the spring makes it known to most people in Lund. I park my bike at the bike path between the plot and the sports ground. In the center of the plot is a fake grave-mound, from it I look out over a blue carpet. It is magnificent. A few small lots of Wood Anemones, some major lots with Yellow Anemone. Trails criss-cross, with a few one with trampled Scilla. Some fallen trees and stumps has been left, to the delight of the insects. The male sellow bloom. Along the bike path do a few large trees remain. To the east are fine painted yellow houses, bicycles past them to Fjelievägen and Café Uven at the junction with Byggmästaregatan. Sit inside? No. Nice weather and the sun invites to sitting with coffee and Viennese tosca on the balcony. It's almost Easter, the easter feather decoration are in place.
