Lund-Borgarparken-Photo album

a park in the north of Lund, including playground, beach arena.

November 10, 2013
It's battle of Borgarparken at Norra Fäladen. There are plans to build in the northwest corner and on a portion of Svenshög schoolyard. Densification it is called.

November rain streams down when I walk from home to the park. Avenues leading into the park center. There is a wading pool, popular in the summer. In northeastern corner is a tennis court. In the southeast corner is a preschool, housed in a barracks-like building. The buildings were demolished, they were well mold damaged. According to the plan, as I understand, the place is becoming a part of the park as a replacement for the part to be built. To the west of the pond is fenced in for a dog school. A man asks if I'm afraid of dogs. No, quite the opposite. He lets out a few dogs from his car and let them in the paddock. It is he who runs Hundskolan.

On the ground is a alphabet snake. Between the preschool and the pond is Beach Arena, a sand court for volleyball and handball. A woman comes up and asks me if I inspect anything. No, just a photograph of my own. It's more who like shooting here today. Although she is an architect she does not like it being built on park land.

North of the pond is a children build playground with animal farm. It's only the hens that are out in the rain. East of the park is the student area Delphinen. There I moved 1972. Then the park was new and not nearly as lush as today. In the bushes next to the preschool was until recently stray cats. They had their own dorms and a bent old man used to come and feed them. I have not seen any of them for a while. Their homes are broken and the parts scattered around. Other residents of the park, birds have nests.

The south-west is dominated by a green space. With a barbecue in the corner against the central portion. In summer festivals are here. There are many nationalities in the area, in the feasts are diversity of offerings. I wander over to the northwest corner.

There is a dog exercise area, additionally an open space with benches. Once an ambitious herb garden project that the residents would attend. Now, there is what I understand a boules court. Opposite is Svenshög schoolyard. On a low hill is a work of art. Dog exercise area, herb garden and the playground is what is supposed to be built. Appropriation of protest group against the construction plans are set. To the west is the square Fäladstorget.

On the square lie the cat Tusse and contemplate the world. Tusse was the square cat. He often lay and slept in the shop window to the flower shop at that time. There was great sadness when he was run over. Now he lies like an artwork in the square. I'll have a beer at the restaurant on the square. Then I go home. It has stopped raining.
