Pictures from Skåne - Sweden - Maglö oaks

June 7, 2009
I come walking the road from the south along the Skåneleden trail. At the parking lot at the nature reserve Maglö oaks is a car, a couple is out walking the dog. Near the parking lot is a small nice house. I sit down on the same stone as the last visit, and eat lunch together with a cuckoo crowing. Then I walk around among the oaks. In a meadow flowers buttercops. It is not a large area, but it is beautiful with all the solitary oaks. Along the road are some big oaks.

I come along the Skåneleden trail from Lillsjödal. I'll turn right to the west and a drizzle hit my face. Terrible. It is an asphalt road, with woods to the south of the road and open fields to the north. A tired and frail oak, held together with ropes, stands beside the road. It has to be Felix oak, which is said to be Göinge oldest oak. A little further on, opposite Maglö farm are conspecifics to Felix, it's big oaks. The nature reserve Maglö oaks was formed to protect the solitary oaks. Solitaire is also I when walk around and admire the solitary trees. I'm not entirely solitary, in company with some anemones, a chaffinch, and the light drizzle I eat under an oak tree my sandwiches. At the border of the nature reserve is a place where you can park a car. I've my car at Lillsjödal, I return the same way as I did come.
