Höjehall
on Söderåsen is one of Skåne's highest natural places. An observation tower provides a nearly 360 degree views.

April 29, 2012: To Höjehall do one come to by foot on forest trails. You can park at the shelter on the red track in Klåveröds recreation area, then follow the red track eastward. Today we have gone Varga Valley Road and do therefore come on the trail from east. Sometimes it is said that Höjehall is the highest point in Skåne, but it is located a bit away. Read more and see pictures from my visit to the highest point. But there is no view, here is an observation tower. There are steep steps up. Spasmodic I hold the ladder and fight my way up the tower. The reward is the view. Especially a day like today when the spring is underway. Nature varies in shades of green. Without the tower is the view not so good. The view up here is to the north, east, south, and west, almost 360 degrees. Down there, the families are picnicking. I take me laboriously down.

Having lunch at the foot of the tower. Children climb rapidly up and down the tower. I feel old and stiff. Only the dog climbs worse, but he is not interested. We follow the red trail to the parking lot. Down and through the beautiful forest, past rocky cliffs. The stone has been used to a stone wall. The trail winds through the woods to the parking lot and the car.
