We have arranged a meeting with my sister and brother-in-law in the parking lot of the church. They are already there. My sister looks at tombstones, thinks she recognizes some names from our distant ancestors in the 19th century.

In the porch of Norra Åsum's church is a runestone, which was erected in connection with the church being built. On the stone it is mentioned that Archbishop Absalon had the church built. Absalon was archbishop 1177-1201, so the church was built during that time. On the wall by the runestone is a tombstone from the 16th century over Jakob Trolle and his son.

In the choir is the altarpiece from 1602 and small original windows. The pulpit is also from the early 17th century. In front of the pulpit is a beautiful tombstone. During a restoration in the 1970s, several grave finds were found under the church floor. On the north wall of the nave hangs an epitaph that a Danish priestess had erected over her two husbands. The baptismal font in the current baptismal chapel, former burial chapel, is made of sandstone and dates to the first half of the 13th century. In the tower there is a floor for the lordship with windows facing the nave.

We drive to Åhus and have lunch at Rökeriet by Helge å. It is hot, despite that they have no shade or parasols outside. There is one parasol, which do not work. Unbearable to sit in the sun, so we sit inside and eat fish and chips. On the river come paddlers.
